On the night of OATLY's listing, its CEO Toni Petersson said that Asia (especially China) is one of OATLY's three core markets in the world, and the company will continue to invest to maintain strong growth.

According to Petersson, after listing, OATLY will focus on further expanding production capacity. In China’s mainland, the company has planned to build two factories, the first one is located in Ma'anshan, which is expected to be put into operation in the fourth quarter of this year. The second factory is expected to start operation in 2023.

He said that on the one hand, building factory will enable OATLY to accelerate the expansion of different categories in China, such as oat-based yogurt, cream and ice cream, and avoid the problem of over-reliance on oat drinks in future sales through category diversification. On the other hand, realizing local production is beneficial to cost management and brings greater price competitiveness.

In addition to production capacity and categories, OATLY also intends to promote omni-channel expansion in China. Petersson said that they will continue to expand the Chinese market with Starbucks, Tmall, Alibaba, boutique coffee shops, tea shops and other partners.
